Andrew Martinez is a 2017 3B/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Jupiter, FL who attends Jupiter HS. Long and lean build with good present strength and room for more. Left handed hitter, timing oriented swing with a leg lift trigger from an uptight stance, uphill swing with lots of bat speed and plenty of lift, front side will come off the ball early, drives the ball well when well timed, might benefit from a more level swing plane to stay on the ball longer. 6.79 runner, played both third base and first base, looked smoother and more athletic at first base than on the left side of the infield, has the agility to play left field as well. Good student, verbal commitment to North Florida.
