Alex Shakibai is a 2017 RHP/3B, 1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Ridgewood, NJ who attends Ridgewood HS. Large frame with long limbs, some present strength in sturdy build. Well-paced, balanced delivery, hides ball well with compact arm-action, works to a 3/4's arm slot. Solid arm speed, ran fastball up to 86 mph, offering shows some armside run. Located fastball well down in zone, displayed ability to command offering to gloveside, use outside corner against right handed hitters. Low-70s curveball has tight rotation, good bite from 11/5 shape. Advanced feel for pitch, can throw it in any count. Flashed mid-70s changeup. Right handed hitter, lift and separate style swing, some rotational elements. Strength shows up when using barrel, pull-oriented approach with solid bat speed. Very good student.
