Tyler Torres is a 2016 3B/RHP with a 6-1 188 lb. frame from Killeen, TX who attends Harker Heights. Large, athletic build with a strong, well proportioned frame and phsyical strength throughout. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, loose and easy arm action with strength across, works on top of ball, quick feet on the charge, hands play, taller at release. Also shows a short and quick arm action through the back from the outfield., moves well on feet to the ball, incorporates some lower half in throws while generating good arm strength and carry on accurate throws. Works from a three-quarter slot on the mound, up-tempo delivery with balance and a shorter stride down the mound. Fastball topped at 85 mph, mostly true in life but occasional arm side run, 12-6 shape on curveball and shows quality depth at times. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow stance and high back elbow with hands pulled back. Short and quick path to the ball, creates some extension out front and incorporates strength well. Nice carry off the barrel, line drive swing path with carry to pull side when squared. Very good student. Named to South Top Prospect List.
