2015 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Anthony Inatsugu is a 2016 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Santa Monica HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong lower half with present strength throughout. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows nice arm speed coming through the back to a high three-quarter release point. Deliberate tempo to delivery with slight pause at top of balance point, lands slightly open with front side but works through and creates downhill plane at release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight but showed ability to locate down in the zone. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with good depth and bite, slider shows 10-4 shape with sweeping action from side to side. Throws strikes with all three pitches. Gathers ell behind the ball in the outfield, gets on top and creates extension out front with solid carry and strength at release. Picks balls well in dirt at first base, shows footwork with a quick pivot and transfer, short arm action at release. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a slightly open stance. Small leg lift with weight shift through lower half. Line drive swing plane, shows bat speed through the zone with line drive contact to all fields and a solid finish with balance.
