Zack Smith is a 2016 SS/RHP, C with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Goldsboro, NC who attends Eastern Wayne. Smith has an athletic build. Hits from a square stance. Balanced through out swing. Has live bat with bat speed and pop. Aggressive approach swing has leverage and shows good pull side pop. Made consistent loud contact in batting practice and BP. Defensively, worked out at SS and behind plate. From the infield, show sure smooth hands with a good release and carry on throws. Showed better behind plate with quick transfer and release and athletic actions. Ball has carry. Solid catch and throw skills. Also pitched. long arm action to 3/4 arm slot. Quick arm and works down hill with fastball. Ball comes out clean. Change up has good action and sinks late. Good upside on mound and plate, all around good athlete with tools to be 2-way prospect in college. Outstanding Student. Committed to UNC-Charlotte. Named to Top Prospect List.
