Jake Renteria is a 2018 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-4 187 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Buchanan HS. Long and tall very athletic build, really projects physically. Right handed hitter, has a surprisingly short swing for his length, hands stay tight and direct, has very quick hands, downward swing plane, if anything he could lengthen his swing out a bit which is a rare thing to say, handled the barrel well and worked the middle of the field, has lots of hitting tools to develop. Good runner with loose athletic actions to the ball in the outfield, makes accurate throws from a low elbow release, arm was fast and projectable, can improve raw arm strength with mechanical adjustments. Should keep getting better as he gets stronger. Good student.
