Josh Simon is a 2016 C/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Laurel, MD who attends St Johns College. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and nice present strength in build. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, solid catch and throw skills, quick transfer and release, strong arm on throws down to second base, accurate throws. Showed well in the outfield, good arm strength, quick, compact arm action from ear, comes out of hand clean, very good carry, more strength to come with incorporation of lower half into throws. Right-handed batter, starts with a spread lower half with a high hand set and high back elbow. Upper half swing, simple and repeatable mechanics, keeps hand in on swing. Shows the approach and skills to hit to all fields, best pop is to pull side. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
