Javier Torres is a 2014 RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Abelardo Martinez Otero HS. Slender projectable build. Loose easy arm action, 3/4's arm slot, well paced deliberate delivery, gets downhill to the bottom of the zone well. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, good arm side running action at times, commanded his fastball very well to both sides of the plate. Sharp breaking mid-70's curveball with good power and biting 10/4 shape, developing change up. Filled up the strike zone with all pitches and had an impressive performance. Could continue to add velocity with additional strength and physical maturity. Good student.
