Tyler Wernli is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Montgomery, TX who attends Montgomery HS. Compact athletic build with a strong lower half. Fast paced delivery with a high knee tuck, lots of moving parts and deception, high 3/4's release slot, trouble repeating delivery at present and tends to rush from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight. Primary curveball pitcher, shows good feel for his curveball and will change speeds and shape, best curveballs have tight spin and good 12/6 downer shape, throws strikes and works aggressively. Some aggressive approach at the plate, right handed hitter, long swing looking to pull and lift. Showed his arm strength in the infield. Good student.
