Al Batson is a 2016 SS/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Antioch, TN who attends Ezell Harding Christian HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength. Very good runner, 6.71 in the sixty. Gets in good position to throw in the infield, good footwork, fields the ball out front and stays low through the ball, has a long arm action for the infield although with good arm strength and carry. Also plays the outfield, centerfield speed with a shorter arm stroke than he uses in the infield, young footwork but could grow into the position with repetitions. Right handed hitter, hand drop load and low hand start, swings hard and creates bat speed, good extension through contact with some whippiness to the barrel at contact, has some lift, mid field to pull contact. Good student.
