Zaq Walsh is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from League City, TX who attends Clear Creek HS. Tall slender build, lots of room to get stronger. High leg lift delivery, 3/4's arm slot, compact arm action, short stride with front leg collapse, does not throw against any front side, falls off on release. Low 70's fastball, some sinking action at the plate, maintains arm speed on secondary pitches, 12/6 curveball shape with some spin and depth, rare curveball. Needs to make the front side/lower half adjustment for added velocity. Left handed hitter, has some strength in his swing, hitting mechanics similar to pitching mechanics, tends to swing on heels and pull off front side/lower half. Has some ability and strength to be tapped. Good student.
