Ian Johnson is a 2016 MIF/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Holy Innocents Episcopal HS. Large frame with athletic, well-built physicality throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.95 seconds. Sets up to hit with narrow stance, high and active hands, and leg lift timing mechanism. Line drive swing plane and overall approach, looks to hit liners to all fields. Has some strength off the barrel and has the ability to run into one and drive the ball. Worked out defensively in the infield, showing solid range to both sides with a good first step to both sides. Profiles well at 3rd base. Shows lots of effort in the field, on every rep. Fields cleanly to both sides with smoothness, extended release out of higher slot, which allows him to get on top of the ball well. Pretty accurate across the diamond, infield velocity clocked up to 78 MPH.
