Shane Shifflett is a 2017 SS/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Venice, FL who attends Venice HS. Compact square shouldered middle infielder's build with some present strength. Quick twitch-athlete with outstanding speed, 6.34 in the sixty, moves very well in the infield with range, plenty of infield arm strength with lots of carry when on top, polished footwork and comes to get the ball without relying on his arm, all the tools to stay in the middle infield for a long time. Switch hitter, has quick hands and a short inside line drive swing path, ball comes off the barrel well, works the middle of the field, consistent swing mechanics, has a bit more present bat speed right handed. Polished player who has played a lot of baseball and it shows. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida.
