Sam Finnerty is a 2015 OF/RHP/SS with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Pelham, AL who attends Pelham HS. Strong well proportioned athletic build. 6.91 runner, moves well to the ball in the outfield, upright release throwing creates an uphill angle, has good arm strength but can work on line better. Right handed hitter, uses his lower half well, has strength in his swing with very good raw bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard, best contact is pulling and showed some lift, strength generated swing but he has lots of strength. Very good offensive potential on a good athlete. Also pitched, short stride with an over the top release, good downhill angle on an 85-86 mph fastball, have seen 88-89 mph frequently in the past, threw strikes and had a very quick inning. Verbal commitment to South Carolina.
