Jacob Johansen is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 215 lb. frame from Lucas, TX who attends Allen. Jacob is tall and has a large 6' 5" frame. He has big legs with present strength, and has some strength in his upper body. He should have no problem adding size in the future. He showed good defensive ability at first base with a good exchange and solid release, good skills for a player his size. He hits from an upright stance and loads well. He stays balanced through his swing and gets good extension. He has pull power to the gap, and has power potential. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has long arms with loose arm action. He is an average effort guy with good mechanics and movement on his fastball. His top fastball velocity was 85 mph. He also features a slider that breaks 11-5 with tighth spin. The slider had a top velocity of 74 mph. He did a good job working in and out, changed speeds effectively, and and demonstrated an understanding of how to pitch.
