Dallas Patriots Stout Grab 6-2 Victory

The Dallas Patriots Sout grabbed the 6-2 victory, defeating the Elite Squad Baseball, in the championship game of the 2014 16U PG World Series.

Michael Neustifter (2016, Hebron HS, TX) a Oklahoma State commit, led the way, going 2-4 with two doubles and two runs in the game.  Hunter Seay (2016, Keller HS, TX) contributed by going 1-3 with a double, one run, and two RBIs in the contest.  Zack Chastain (2016, Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX) also went 2-4 with a triple, single and two RBIs.

On the mound, Cody Wernli (2016, Allen HS, TX) pitched 3.1 innings of work, giving up one earned run on two hits and struck out four, while displaying a good fastball that topped out at 88 mph.

For the Elite Squad, Colton Welker (2016, Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, FL) a Miami commit, went 2-3 at the plate with two singles, and Joseph Perez (2017, American Heritage HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and one RBI.  Brandon Chinea (2016, Florida Christian HS, FL) a Tennessee commit, went 1-4 with a single, and one run scored in the game.


Rukes and Santana Send Elite Squad to Finals

Elite Squad Baseball pitchers Garret Rukes (2016, Pine Crest HS, FL) and Tyler Santana (2016, Coral Gables HS, FL) combined to no-hit Evoshield Canes, and send Elite Squad to the championship game with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday.

Rukes, an Alabama recruit, tossed five innings to earn the win, allowing two base runners via hit by pitch. He struck out five hitters, and his fastball topped out at 84 mph. Santana pitched the final two innings, striking out two hitters. His fastball peaked at 87 mph.

Tennessee commit Brandon Chinea (2016, Florida Christian School, FL) singled and tripled to lead the Elite Squad offense, driving in three runs. Landon Silver (2016, Westminster Christian School, FL) and Steven Revilla (2016, West Broward HS, FL) each added one run batted in for Elite Squad.

Late Runs Sends Dallas Patriots Stout to Finals

Dallas Patriots Stout scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and advance to the championship game with a 5-4 victory over Florida Burn on Wednesday.

Oklahoma State commit Michael Neustifter (2016, Hebron HS, TX) drove in a pair of runs for the Patriots, while Oklahoma State recruit Ryan Cash (2016, Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX) added a run scored, a run batted in, and a hit. Bryan Seamster (2016, Byron Nelson HS, TX) scored two runs and recorded three hits, including a double. Trevor Paradoski (2016, Coronado HS, TX) also added a double in the win.

Nick Cheema (2016, Aledo HS, TX) earned the win for the Patriots, as he tossed 1.1 innings for the Patriots. He struck out two hitters, and his fastball topped out at 89 mph.

The four Florida Burn runs were scored by Gabriel Lozada (2016, IMG Academy, FL), Nicholas Baldor (2016, Jesuit HS, FL), Alex Crotty (2016, Windermere Preparatory School, FL), and Tyler Dyson (2016, Braden River HS, FL). Dyson led the team with two hits, including a double. Also adding a double was Baldor in the loss.

NorCal gets it done

NorCal Baseball used only 3 hits to beat Elite Training Baseball Chicago 4-1. Tyler Malone (2016, Woodcreek, Roseville, CA), an Oregon State commit, picked up the win for NorCal in his 3 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs and no hits, while striking out 1. His fastball was impressive hitting between 85 and 88 mph.

Grant Gambrell (2016, Buchanan, Clovis, CA), an Oregon State commit, led the offense for NorCal. He went 1-1 with 2 RBI and 2 walks.

Anthony Holubecki (2016, IMG Academy, Elburn, IL), a Notre Dame commit, pitched well for Elite Training. He went 3 innings allowing only 1 earned run and 1 hit, while striking out 4. His fastball looked good sitting between 87 and 90 mph, while topping out at 91 mph.

Florida shows off the bats

The Florida Burn racked up 11 hits in their 7-0 win over the Evoshield Canes. Austin Bergner (2016, Windermere Prep, Windermere, FL) picked up the win for Florida in his 4 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs and just 2 hits, while striking out 9 and walking none. His fastball was very impressive sitting between 90 and 92 mph, while topping out at 93 mph.

Scott Dubrule (2016, Venice Senior, Nokomis, FL) led the offense for Florida. He went a perfect 3-3 with an RBI. Rylan Thomas (2016, Windermere Prep, Winter Garden, FL), a UCF commit, went 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Nick Ortega (2016, Jesuit, Tampa, FL) went 2-2 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

Elite Squad wins a tight one

Elite Squad Baseball had timely hitting and good pitching to beat the West Coast Mariners 3-1. Evan McKendry (2016, University School of Nova Southeastern University, Pembroke Pines, FL), a Miami commit, was impressive in his 3 innings of work for Elite Squad. He allowed no earned and just 3 hits, while striking out 4. His fastball was good between 85 and 87 mph, while topping out at 88 mph.

Mike Amiditis (2016, Boca Raton Community, Boca Raton, FL) led the offense for Elite Squad. He went 2-3 with an RBI. Joseph Perez (2017, American Heritage, Pembroke Pines, FL) also went 2-3.

Nico Tellache (2016, Canby, Canby, OR), an Oregon commit, pitched well for the Mariners. He worked 4 innings and allowed no earned and just 2 hits, while striking out 2.

Ronnie Rust (2016, Central Catholic, Portland, OR), an Oregon State commit, led the offense for the Mariners. He went 2-4.

The Dallas Patriots Stout picked up 11 hits in their 11-0 win over Tri-State Arsenal. Hunter Seay (2016, Keller, Keller, TX) picked up the win for Dallas in his 2.1 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs and just 2 hits, while striking out 1. He also led the offense going a perfect 3-3 with a double and 4 RBI.

Trevor Paradoski (2016, Coronado, Lubbock, TX) went 2-4 for Dallas. He had a triple and added 2 RBI. Michael Neustifter (2016, Hebron, Carrollton, TX), an Oklahoma State commit, went 2-4 with a triple, and RBI, and 3 runs scored.

Malone Leads NorCal to 7-2 Victory

The NorCal Baseball defeated the Slammers Black 7-2 in seven innings.

The Oregon State commit, Tyler Malone (2016, Roseville, CA), took over the pitching duties and went all seven innings with 92 pitches. He scattered just five hits with two earned runs to score. He walked a pair and struck out eight while touching 90 mph on the gun. He throws all pitches around the plate with a good extension out front with a solid arm action. He knows how to pitch while competing on the mound and working quickly. 

Offensively, Davis Delorefice (2016, Fairfield, CA) collected most of the RBIs for the team with three, but he never picked up a hit. Jonathan Temple (2016, Turlock, CA) led the team with a pair of hits with a single and a double. Jonathan Mendoza (2016, Sunnyvale, CA) and Antonio Torres (2015, El Dorado Hills, CA) each added a double each, and Mendoza scored twice. 

Jake Eissler (2016, Littleton, CO) led the offense for the Slammers with a single and a double. Maverick Handley (2016, Lakewood, CO) connected with a RBI triple, and Quin Cotton (2016, Parker, CO) added a triple of his own. Wyatt Featherston (2016, Lakewood, CO) roped a RBI single to help out. 

Nathan Sweeney (2016, Greenwood Village, CO) pitched the most effectively for his team. He only went two innings and let one hit fall without an earned run to score. He did not walk a batter and struck out a pair on his 87 mph fastball. 

Canes Jump Out Early But Lose 4-2

The Elite Baseball Training Chicago defeated the Evoshield Canes 4-2 in seven innings.

The Vanderbilt commit, Drake Fellows (2016, Plainfield, IL), led Elite Baseball with a RBI double and a run for his team. Sam Ferri (2016, Norridge, IL) was the other player to tack on a hit. Brandon Martorano (2016, Marlboro, NJ), Evan Bell (2016, Oak Park, IL), and Tyler Fitzgerald (2016, Rochester, IL) all scored a run once. 

Garrett Acton (2016, Lemont, IL) went the longest on the mound for his team. He went five innings with 75 pitches. He scattered six hits with two runs. He walked three batters and struck out two on his 87 mph fastball.

The North Carolina commit, Edward "EP" Reese (2016, Lexington, NC), tried to light a comeback for the Canes with a pair of singles and a run. Nathan Blakeney (2016, High Point, NC) added a two RBI double for his team. Three other teammates connected with a single each.

Mason Vicknair (2017, Leplace, LA) was the most effective pitcher for his team with his three innings of work. He let just one hit fall without an earned run to score. He walked a pair and struck out three while touching 85 mph on the gun. 

Banditos stage a comeback

Houston Banditos came back to beat Elite Baseball Training Chicago 5-4. Steve Hodgson (2016, Kingwood Park, TX) led the attack with two singles and two RBI's.  Pinch-hitter Chase Ivey (2016, Cypress Ranch, TX) helped out with a single that drove in a run. Kyle Fowler (2016, Cypress Woods, TX) threw four innings and fanned six while walking four.

Anthony Holubecki (2016, IMG Academy, IL) threw 4 2/3 innings for Elite.  He struck out six while allowing five hits and a walk. His fastball was in the high 80's and touched 91 mph.  Evan Bell (2016, Oak Park & River Forest, IL) led the offense with two singles.  Matt Segovia (2016, Notre Dame, IL) also hit two singles in the loss.

Bodison leads the way

Grant Bodison (2016, Mauldin, SC) led Evoshield Canes over NorCal Baseball in their 8-0 win.  He went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI's.  Chase McCroskey (2016, Wren, SC) doubled in a run. Miachel Bienlein (2016, Great Bridge, VA) started and lasted two innings. He fanned one while throwing his heater in the mid 80's. It touched 88 mph.  Alec Creel (2016, Wake Forest, NC) threw three innings and struck out five while allowing two hits. His mid 80's fastball reached 87 mph.

Austin Manning (2016, Heritage, CA) started for NorCal. In two innings, he fanned four and walked one. His low 80's fastball topped out at 85.   Jack Cosca (2016, Jesuit, CA) pitched 2 2/3 innings and struck out three batters. His heater reached 84 mph.

Elite Squad Baseball hammered out nine hits in their 4-1 win over Tri-State Arsenal.  Colton Welker (2016, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, FL) led the attack with hits including a double and a triple.  Eric Rivera (2016, Charles W. Flanagan, FL) pitched in with two singles and an RBI.  Landon Silver (2016, Westminster Christian, FL) went 2 for 3 in the win. He threw his fastball in the high 80's and touched 91 mph.  Johnny Leone (2017,  St. Thomas Aquinas, FL ) threw two innings and fanned three. His low 80's heater topeed out at 84 mph.

Tim Zeng (2015, Rancocas Valley, NJ) drove in the Arsenal's only run with a single.

Mariners and Prospects tie

Grady Miller (2016, Wenatchee, WA) helped West Coast Mariners tie with Indiana Prospects 4-4.  In 6 1/3 innings, he struck out eight while allowing three walks. Easton Bents (2016, Grants Pass, OR) led the offense with a double and triple.  William Matthiessen (2016, West Linn, OR) singled in two runs.  Ronnie Rust (2016, Central Catholic, OR) pitched in with two singles and an RBI.

Conrado Skepple (2015, Bloomingdale, FL) started for the Prospects.  He fanned seven while allowing four hits in four innings of work. Gian Luca Dalatri (2016, Christian Brothers, NJ) came in to throw the fifth inning. He fanned two while allowing a hit.  His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph. Coy Cronk (2016, Central Catholic, IN) hit a homer and a single in the tie.  Both Daltri and Skepple had doubles. 

Dallas Patriots Stout Rally for 5-2 Win

Dallas Patriots Stout scored the final five runs of the game, and claimed a 5-2 victory over St. Louis Pirates in Fort Myers on Tuesday.

Oklahoma State commit Michael Neustifter (2016, Hebron HS, TX) doubled, scored a run, and drove in two runs to lead the Patriots offense. Hunter Seay (2016, Keller HS, TX) and Cody Sturgeon (2016, Naaman Forest HS, TX) each added one run batted in, while Zack Chastain (2016, Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX) led the team with two hits, both singles, in the victory.

Neustifter earned the victory on the mound for the Patriots, as he allowed just two hits over five innings with five strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 81 mph.

The Pirates’ runs were driven in by Mississippi commit DJ Miller (2015, Granite City HS, IL) and Collin Clayton (2016, Edwardsville HS, IL), while scoring the runs were Drew Millas (2016, Belleville HS East, IL) and Joe Warnecke (2016, St. Louis University HS, MO). Camden Bauer (2016, O’Fallon HS, IL) led the team with two singles in the losing effort.

Late Run Gives Win to Dirtbags

Dirtbags scored a run in the top of the seventh inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and claiming a 2-1 victory over Orlando Scorpions in Fort Myers on Tuesday.

Ryan Jeffers (2015, Sanderson HS, NC) drove in a run for the Dirtbags, while the team’s two runs were plated by NC State commit Steven Oakley (2015, CE Jordan HS, NC) and East Carolina recruit Matt Bridges (2015, Crest HS, NC). Garrett Blaylock (2017, TC Roberson HS, NC) recorded three hits, all singles, and Brandon Lankford (2016, Davie County HS, NC) added a double in the win.

North Carolina commit Logan Welch (2015, Reynolds HS, NC) allowed one hit in his one inning, and picked up the win for the Dirtbags. He struck out one hitter, and his fastball topped out at 87 mph.

The sole Scorpions run was driven in by Florida State recruit Drew Mendoza (2016, Lake Minneola HS, FL) and scored by Duke commit Chase Cheek (2016, Dr. Phillips HS, FL). South Carolina recruit Carlos A. Cortes (2016, Oviedo HS, FL) added two hits, while Spencer Taylor (2016, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) recorded a triple in the loss.

Late Runs Propel Team Elite

Team Elite scored all of its runs in the final two innings, and allowed just four hits in a 7-0 victory over Slammers Black in Fort Myers on Tuesday.

Cole Halfacre (2016, JM Tate HS, FL) and Aaron Schunk (2016, The Lovett School, GA) led the run production for Team Elite, as both players singled and drove in two runs. Austin Wilhite (2016, Buford HS, GA) added three hits, all singles, and a run batted in. Zachary Miller (2016, Mountain View HS, GA) scored two hits and supplied a single in the win.

Schunk tossed five scoreless innings for Team Elite, and allowed just the four hits in his win. He struck out four hitters, and his fastball topped out at 87 mph.

The four Slammers hits, all singles, were provided by Paul Tillotson (2016, Lewis-Palmer HS, CO), Tommy Gillman (2016, Columbine HS, CO), Jake Eissler (2016, Thunderridge HS, CO), and Quin Cotton (2016, Regis Jesuit HS, CO).

Florida Burn Walks Off, Defeats SWFL 16U

A single from Scott Debrule (2016, Venice HS, FL) gave Florida Burn a walk-off victory, as the Burn bested SWFL 16U, 2-1, on Tuesday in Fort Myers.

Nick Ortega (2016, Jesuit HS, FL) and Debrule scored the two runs for the Burn, while Austin Bergner (2016, Windermere Preparatory School, FL) added a run batted in. Debrule and Nicholas Baldor (2016, Jesuit HS, FL) led the team with two hits, while Bergner added a double in the victory.

Zak Wilson (2016, Eau Gallie HS, FL) did not allow an earned run over five innings on the mound, and earned the victory. He struck out three hitters, and his fastball topped out at 86 mph.

The sole SWFL run was scored by Will Robertsons, who also provided one of the team’s two singles. The other SWFL hit was supplied by Carter Smith (2016, Fort Myers HS, FL) in the loss.

Patriots Pitching Staff Shuts Down Mariners

The Dallas Patriots defeated the West Coast Mariners 3-0 in seven innings.

Brayden Wise (2016, Clifton, TX) did most of the pitching for the Patriots with six innings of work. He let just a pair of hits fall without a run to score. He walked three batters and struck out five while running the gun up to 84 mph with his fastball. The Oklahoma State commit, Michael Neustufter (2016, Carrollton, TX), collected the save with his last frame of work with only seven pitches. He did not walk a batter, let a hit fall, or a run to score. He maxed out the radar at 84 mph as well.

Bryan Seamster (2016, Roanoke, TX) led the offensive surge by going 3-4 with two singles and a double while scoring once. Trevor Paradoski (2016, Lubbock, TX) helped with a single and a double as well. Cody Sturgeon (2016, Garland, TX) connected with a RBI single, and Ryan Cash (2016, Plano, TX) added a single and touched home once. Neistifter and Zack Chastain (2016, Frisco, TX) each picked up a RBI without a hit. 

Kyler McMahan (2017, Lynnwood, WA) and Grady Miller (2016, Wenatchee, WA) each picked up a single for the Mariners for the only offense for their team.

William Matthiessen (2016, West Linn, OR) went half of the game with three innings. He scattered five hits with two runs to score. He walked a batter and struck out two while maxing out at 82 mph. Sam Muskat (2016, Beaverton, OR) finished the last three innings effectively. He let just three hits fall without one run to score. He walked one and struck out one. He ran the radar up to 80 mph with his fastball. 

Insurance Comes In Handy For Arsenal

The Tri-State Arsenal defeated the Orlando Scorpions 5-4 in six innings.

The Duke commit, Matt Mervis (2016, Potomac, MD), led the offensive surge with a pair of singles with a RBI and a run. Julian Kurych (2015, Middletown, DE) roped a pair of singles with a  pair of runs. David Juechter (2016, Nyack, NY) connected with a RBI single of his own, and Matt McCourt (2015, Mullica Hill, NJ) and Jared Melone (2015, North Wales, PA) added a single and scored once.

Emmett Harkins (2016, North Wales, PA) went the complete game for his team. He went all six innings with 123 pitches. He scattered ten hits with three earned runs to score. He walked four batters and struck out four while touching 88 mph with his fastball. He is effectively wild that comes with a solid arm action while pitching downhill. He works fast and attacks hitters constantly. 

Riley Hogan (2016, Orlando, FL) led the Scorpions with a trio of singles with a RBI, and Jordan Santos (2016, Tampa, FL) added two singles with a run of his own. Spencer Taylor (2016, Sorrento, FL), Drew Mendoza (2016, Minneola, FL), and Carlos A Cortes (2016, Oviedo, FL) all helped out with a RBI single, and Cortes and Taylor touched home once as well. 

Tanner LaVanture (2016, Palm Bay, FL) was the most effective pitcher for his team with 2.2 innings of work. He scattered three hits with one earned run to score. He walked three batters and struck out four on his 82 mph fastball. He throws all his pitches around the plate while working downhill. He keeps batters off balance while attacking them constantly. 

Scorpions Early Lead Sparks 10-1 Win

The Orlando Scorpions jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and went on to defeat the Indiana Prospects 10-1 in the 16U PG World Series. 
The Scorpions were led offensively by Jared Herron, (2016, Trinity Preparatory, FL), a Florida State commit, who went 2-2 with a double, a single, two RBIs and a run. Drew Mendoza, (2016, Lake Minneola, FL) a Florida State commit, added a double, two RBIs, a walk and run. Spencer Taylor, (2016, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) added two RBIs for the Scorpions. Sam Lanier, (2015, Orangewood Christian, FL), an East Carolina commit, had a stellar performance on the mound, throwing a complete game and only allowing one run on six hits while striking out eight. 
The Indiana Prospects were led offensively by Ty Reginelli, (2015, Mars Area, PA) who went 2-3 with a triple, a single and a run scored. JJ Bleday, (2016, Titusville, PA), a Vanderbilt commit, went 1-3 with a single and one RBI. He also pitched five innings, allowing six runs on five hits while striking out four. 

Mariners Hold for Close 3-2 Win

The West Coast Mariners held one onto a close one run victory over the Tri-State Arsenal in the 16U PG World Series. 
Ronnie Rust, (2016, Central Catholic HS, OR), an Oregon State commit, led the Mariners offensively going 2-3 with two singles and one RBI. William Matthiesson, (2016, West Linn, OR) added two hits of his own, a double and a single, to go with one run scored. Elliot Willy, (2016, Bend Senior, OR) added two hits, a double and single. Kenyon Yovan, (2016, Westview, OR), an Oregon commit, pitched a complete game, allowing two unearned runs on two hits while striking out six. 
Brad Weber, (2016, Calvert Hall College, MD) also pitched well for Tri-State Arsenal in a losing effort, only allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out six. Tim Zeng, (2015, Rancocas Valley Reg, NJ) was the offensive leader, going 1-3 with a single and a run scored. 

Stallings' Shutout Lifts Canes to 2-0 Win

In a closely contested game, the Evoshield Canes came out on top with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Banditos behind a solid pitching performance by Garrett Stallings. 
Stallings, (2016, Grassfield HS, VA) pitched a complete game shutout, only allowing two hits while striking out nine. Stallings attacked hitters all game, throwing 75 percent of his pitches for strikes. John VanDeMark, (2016, Bergen Catholic, NJ) and Grant Bodison, (2016, Mauldin HS, SC), a South Carolina commit, each led the Evoshield Canes offense with an RBI single. Nick Neville, (2016, Lake Braddock Secondary, VA) had a double, a walk, and scored his team's two runs. 
Christian Sanchez, (2015, PSJA, TX) and Hayes had the Houston Banditos two hits in the game. John Hays (2016, Sam Houston, TX) had a good game on the mound, throwing a complete and allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits and struck out five. 

Big 5th Leads SWFL 16U to 8-4 Win

SWFL 16U scored five runs in the 5th inning to erase a 2-1 deficit and went on to beat the Slammers Black by a score of 4-2. 
Bobby Stewart, (2016, Naples HS, FL) was the offensive leader for SWFL, going 1-3 with a single, three RBIs, a stolen base and a run. Anthony Churlin, (2016, Island Coast HS, FL), a UCF commit, also had a productive day at the plate going 1-2 with a single, 2 RBIs, two walks and a run. Bryan Eberle, (2016, Canterbury HS, FL) led SWFL with three hits, all singles, and drove in a run. Jordan Spicer, (2015, St. Thomas Aquinas, FL) pitched six solid innings, allowing no hits, two unearned runs and struck out four to earn the win. 
Nick Spiliotis, (2016, Regis Jesuit, CO) was the offensive leader for Slammers Black, going 1-2 with a single, one RBI and two stolen bases. Travis Marr, (2016, Regis Jesuit, CO) also had a good game offensively, going 1-2 with a single, a run and a walk. Jerome Bohannon, (2016, Cherokee Trail HS, CO) pitched four innings, allowing six runs, four earned, on eight hits and struck out two.

The Dirtbags scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the Dallas Patriots Stout 6-6. The Dirtbags scored in each of the final 5 innings. Cody Wernli (2016, Allen, Allen, TX) pitched 3 innings for Dallas and had a strong 83-86 mph fastball that touched 87 mph.

Cody Sturgeon (2016, Naaman Forest, Garland, TX) led the offense for Dallas. He went 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a run scored.

Cory Wood (2016, Sanderson, Raleigh, NC) led the offense for the Dirtbags. He went 2-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Cole Abshire (2016, Wake Forest-Rolesville, Wake Forest, NC) went 2-4 with a run scored. Easton Jones (2016, Eastern Randolph, Ramseur, NC) went 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

Connor Darling (2016, North Gwinnett, Suwannee, GA) picked up the win in 6 innings of work for Team Elite. He allowed no earned and just 3 hits, while striking out 3. His fastball was impressive at 85-87 mph, while topping out at 88 mph.

Lincoln Hewitt (2015, North Hall, Gainesville, GA) led the offense for Team Elite. He went 2-3 with a run scored.

Austin Wilhite (2016, Buford, Buford, GA) picked up the save for Team Elite. He allowed no earned and no hits in his one inning of work. His fastball was good at 86-88 mph.

The Houston Banditos defeated NorCal Baseball, 5-3, thanks to early run support that proved to be the difference in the end.

Marshall Skinner (2016, Cypress Ranch HS, TX) led the way, going 3-3 with two doubles, one single, two runs and one RBI.  Shawn Jamison (2015, Angleton HS, TX) went 103 with a single and one RBI, and Steve Hodgson (2016, Kingwood Park HS, TX) went 1-3 as well, with a single and one RBI as well on the day.

On the mound, Hodgson pitched a complete game, giving up three earned runs on nine hits and struck out seven, in 6.2 innings of work.  He had good command of a fastball that topped out at 83 mph, and mixed in a good curveball and a handful of changeups for his off-speed pitches.

For NorCal, Antonio Torres (2015, Antelope HS, CA) went 1-2 with a single and one RBI, and Jonathan Temple (2016, Turlock HS, CA) went 2-3 with a double, single, and one run scored.  Grant Gambrell (2016, Buchanan HS, CA) went 2-2 with two singles and one run, and Niko Domingo (2015, Del Oro HS, CA) went 2-3 with two singles and one RBI.

The West Coast Mariners grabbed the shutout victory, defeating the St. Louis Pirates, 8-0.

Kyler McMahan (2017, Lynnwood HS, WA) went 2-3 at the plate, with a double, single and one run scored in the game.  Harrison Goodnewardene (2016, Mercer Island HS, WA) a Washington commit, also went 2-3 in the contest, with a double, single, one run and one RBI.  Ayden Allen (2016, Interlake Senior HS, WA) went 2-3 also, with two singles, and two RBIs.

Jimmy Boyce (2016, Eastside Catholic HS, WA) pitched a complete game, giving up just two hits while striking out two, and had a fastball that averaged  85-88 mph and topped out at 89 mph.  He also mixed in a handful of good curveballs and a changeup.

SWFL 16U surrendered two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but held on for a 4-3 victory over Elite Baseball Training Chicago on Monday in Fort Myers.

Robb Adams (2017, Desoto County HS, FL) drove in a run for SWFL, while UCF commit Anthony Churlin (2016, Island Coast HS, FL) led the team with two runs scored and two hits. Gus Cunningham added a hit and a run scored, while the final hit was recorded by Christian Maglich (2016, Cardinal Mooney HS, FL) and the final run scored by Arell Harris (2016, Gulf Coast HS, FL).

Adams also earned the win on the mound for SWFL, tossing four innings with just one run allowed. He struck out three hitters, and his fastball topped out at 82 mph.

Orlando Scorpions Score Final Six Runs in Win

Orlando Scorpions scored the final six runs of the game, and rallied from an early deficit to claim a 6-2 victory over Dallas Patriots Stout on Monday in Fort Myers.

Runs were driven in for the Scorpions by Austin Nickle (2016, Melbourne Central Catholic HS, FL), South Carolina commit Carlos A. Cortes (2016, Oviedo HS, FL), and Florida State commit Drew Mendoza (2016, Lake Minneola HS, FL). Duke commit Chase Creek (2016, Dr. Phillips HS, FL) and Nathan Schreckengost (2016, West Orange HS, FL) each added a double and a run scored in the victory.

Florida State recruit Drew Parrish (2016, Rockledge HS, FL) tossed three innings for the Scorpions, allowing two runs on one hit. He struck out four, and his fastball topped out at 88 mph.

The two Patriots runs were driven in by Zack Chastain (2016, Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX), while Hunter Seay (2016, Keller HS, TX) and Cody Sturgeon (2016, Naaman Forest HS, TX) scored the runs. Chastain also added a double in the losing effort.

Florida Burn received a walk-off single from Nick Long in the bottom of the seventh inning, claiming a 2-1 victory over Slammers Black on Monday in Fort Myers.

The two Burn runs were scored by Gabriel Lozada (2016, IMG Academy, FL) and Nick Ortega (2016, Jesuit HS, FL), who scored the winning run. Scott Debrule (2016, Venice HS, FL), Long, and Ortega provided the team’s three hits in the win.

Johnnie Schneider (2015, Calvary Christian School, FL) allowed one hit in his one inning, and picked up the win on the mound. His fastball topped out at 86 mph.

The sole Slammers run was driven in by Aaron Dammel (2016, Highlands Ranch HS, CO) and was scored by Tommy Gillman (2016, Columbine HS, CO). Dammel, Gillman, Paul Tillotson (2016, Lewis-Palmer HS, CO), and Cole Hadzeriga (2016, Arvada West HS, CO) each recorded a single in the loss.

Dirtbags scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead, and held on for a 3-2 victory over Elite Squad Baseball in Fort Myers on Monday.

North Carolina commit Logan Welch (2015, Reynolds HS, NC) drove in two runs with two doubles to lead the Dirtbags offense. Garrett Blaylock (2017, TC Roberson HS, NC) drove in a run, scored a run, and singled, while Cory Wood (2016, Sanderson HS, NC) added a pair of singles and a run scored. Brandon Lankford (2016, Davie County HS, NC) also scored a run in the win.

East Carolina commit Matt Bridges (2015, Crest HS, NC) allowed an unearned run in his only inning, but picked up the win for the Dirtbags. His fastball topped out at 86 mph.

Elijiah Eusebio (2016, Miami, FL) roped a single with three RBIs and a walk. Eric Rivera (2016, West Park, FL) connected with a single and a double with a RBI and a run. Mike Amiditis (2016, Boca Raton, FL) added two RBIs without a hit. 

Anthony Masiello (2016, Parkland, FL) tossed the longest with four innings. He did not let a hit or run fall. He walked one batter and struck out one while touching 86 mph with his fastball. He has good command with a good extension out front with a solid arm action. He has a deceptive delivery with arms die run on his fastball. He is a crafty left that comes with projectable stuff. Edwin Serrano (2016, Haines City, FL) went the last three innings with two hits without an earned run. He walked one and struck out two while maxing out at 81 mph. 

Sean Mooney (2016, Marmora, NJ) and Gian Luca Dalatri (2016, Wall, NJ) were the only players to get a hit for the Prospects.

Joran Santos (2016, Tampa, FL) and Marc Coffers (2016, Naples, FL) each led the Scorpions with two hits and a run. Florida State commit, Jared Herron (2016, Orlando, FL), provided the only offense with a two RBI single. 

The FSU commit, Brandon Reitz (2016, Ocala, FL), pitched most of the game with seven innings. He let just two hits fall without a run to score. He walked four batters and struck out six while touching 89 mph with his fastball. He has a projectable frame with a large and wiry body. He throws strikes while throwing easy with a quick arm action. He changes speeds while keeping batters off balance. He uses his lower half with an arm side run on his fastball. He has projectable stuff while missing bats often.

The star of the game was Blake Charlton (2016, O'Fallon, MO) who tossed the complete game shut out for the Pirates. He let just two hits fall without a run to score. He walked just one lone batter and struck out seven while touching 87 mph with his fastball. He flashed a curve, slider, and change up in the game. 

Donovan Psaris (2016, St. Louis, MO) led the offense with a pair of singles with a RBI. Joey Polak (2016, Quincy, IL) added a RBI double, and Joe Warnecke (2016, Manchester, MO) and DJ Miller (2015, Madison, IL) contributed a single each. Houston Banditos seize victory thanks to late single, drop Team Elite 6-3. Houston Banditos was led by Christian Sanchez's (PSJA, San Juan, TX 2015) hitting. He went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. Lincoln Hewett (North Hall, Gainesville, GA 2015) was the other hot hitter for Team Elite. He got a hit in each of his two at bats with a single in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Shawn Jamsion (Angleton, Angleton, TX 2015) got it done on the bump on the way to a victory. He allowed three runs over five innings with striking out seven, walked four and gave up seven hits. Zach Linginfelter (Sevier County, Sevierville, TN 2016) took the loss for Team Elite. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three and allowed five runs. Early lead not enough for the West Coast Mariners, drop 7-3 decision to Orlando Scorpions. Drew Mendoza (Lake Minneola, Minneola, FL 2016, FSU) was the hot hitter for Orlando Scorpions. He racked up three RBIs on one hit for Orlando Scorpions with a homer in the fourth inning. Ronnie Rust (Central Catholic, Portland, OR 2016, Oregon State) was the other hot hitter for the West Coast Mariners. He went 1-2 for the game with two scoring runs.

Tyler Baum (West Orange, Ocoee, FL 2016) shut down the West Coast Mariners while he was on the mound. The West Coast Mariners managed just two hits off of the Orlando Scorpions' pitcher. He allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work. NorCal Baseball third-inning burst enough to top SWFL 16U, 8-2. Grant Gambrell (Buchanan, Clovis, CA 2016) was the hot hitter for NorCal Baseball. He racked up three RBIs on two hits for NorCal Baseball. Austin Dennis was the other hot hitter for SWFL 16U. He went 2-3 for the game with scoring one run. NorCal Baseball as an offense today had eight runs scored with nine hits.

James Vaccaro (Mira Monte, Orinda, CA 2016) recorded the win for NorCal Baseball. He allowed two runs over six innings with four strike outs, three walks and seven hits. Elite Baseball Training Chicago scored a run in the first inning, and allowed just two hits to win wire-to-wire in a 5-0 victory over Florida Burn on Sunday in Fort Myers.

Notre Dame commit Sam Ferri (2016, Notre Dame College Prep HS, IL) drove in three runs for Chicago, and also added one of the team’s three hits. North Carolina recruit Brandon Martorano (2016, Christian Brothers Academy, NJ) and Mike Addante (2017, Harry D. Jacobs HS, IL) each supplied a single, while Louisville commit Tyler Fitzgerald (2016, Rochester HS, IL) led the team with two runs scored in the victory.

Vanderbilt commit Drake Fellows (2016, Joliet Catholic Academy, IL) tossed a complete game for Chicago, striking out ten hitters over his six innings. His fastball topped out at 90 mph.

A pair of three-run innings propelled Tri-State Arsenal to a 6-2 victory over Dirtbags on Sunday in Fort Myers.

Jared Melone (2015, North Penn HS, PA) was the leading hitter for Tri-State, as he doubled, scored a run, and drove in three runs. Kyle Ebert (2016, Don Bosco Prep School, NJ) and Tim Zeng (2015, Rancocas Valley Regional HS, NJ) added one run batted in. Zeng had the game’s only multi-hit performance, and also scored two runs in the victory.

Duke commit Matt Mervis (2016, Georgetown Preparatory School, MD) tossed five innings for Tri-State, allowing two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 88 mph.

St. Louis Pirates scored the first seven runs of the game, and went on to claim a 9-4 victory over Indiana Prospects in Fort Myers on Sunday.

Donovan Psaris (2016, Christian Brothers College HS, MO) led the Pirates offense with two runs batted in and a run scored. Blake Charlton (2016, Christian Brothers College HS, MO) added two singles, a run batted in, and a run scored, while Collin Clayton (2016, Edwardsville HS, IL) clubbed a single to go with two runs scored. Camden Bauer (2016, O’Fallon HS, IL) added a single, a run scored, and drove in a run in the victory.

Jacob Kostyshock (2016, Francis Howell HS, MO) tossed three innings for the Pirates, earning the win without allowing an earned run. He struck out two hitters, and his fastball topped out at 91 mph.

Vanderbilt commit JJ Bleday (2016, Titusville HS, PA), Gian Luca Dalatri (2016, Christian Brothers Academy, NJ), and Luis Medina (2016, Tampa Preparatory School, FL) drove in one run apiece for Indiana. Slammers Black Claims 3-1 Win Over Evoshield

Slammers Black scored the final three runs of the game, and claimed a 3-1 victory over Evoshield Canes in Fort Myers on Sunday.

The Slammers runs were driven in by Wyatt Featherston (2016, Green Mountain HS, CO) and Quin Cotton (2016, Regis Jesuit HS, CO), who drove in a pair of runs. Paul Tillotson (2016, Lewis-Palmer HS, CO), Nathan Sweeney (2016, Cherry Creek HS, CO), and Jake Eissler (2016, Thunderridge HS, CO) each scored a run in the victory.

Eissler tossed a complete game for the Slammers, allowing just one run on three hits with 13 strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 90 mph.

The sole Evoshield run was driven in by John VanDeMark (2016, Bergen Catholic HS, NJ), and was scored by NC State commit EP Reese (2016, North Davidson HS, NC). A double from VanDeMark and singles from Reese and South Carolina recruit Brad Debo (2016, Orange HS, NC) accounted for the Canes offense in the loss.

Indiana Prospects scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth, and allowed just two hits in a 2-0 victory over Dirtbags on Saturday in Fort Myers.

The two Indiana runs were driven in by Luis Medina (2016, Tampa Preparatory School, FL) and Ty Reginelli (2015, Mars Area HS, PA), who also added a pair of singles. Conrado Skepple (2015, Bloomingdale HS, FL) and Reginelli scored the runs, and Milo Beam (2016, Westfield HS, IN) added a single in the victory.

Gian Luca Dalatri (2016, Christian Brothers Academy, NJ) struck out 15 hitters over seven innings, allowing just two hits and one walk. His fastball topped out at 88 mph in the win.

St. Louis Pirates scored two decisive runs in the bottom of the third inning, and held on for a 4-3 victory over Orlando Scorpions in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Driving in one run each for the Pirates were South Carolina commit Joey Polak (2016, Quincy Notre Dame HS, IL), Donovan Psaris (2016, Christian Brothers College HS, MO), and Joe Warnecke (2016, St. Louis University HS, MO). DJ Miller (2015, Granite City HS, IL) added two hits, including a double, and two runs scored. Camden Bauer (2016, O’Fallon HS, IL) supplied a double and a run scored, and Arkansas commit Jordan McFarland (2016, Gibault Catholic HS, IL) singled and scored once in the win.

Justin Tallman (2015, Quincy Notre Dame HS, MO) tossed a complete game for the Pirates, allowing just one earned run with eight strikeouts over seven innings. His fastball topped out at 86 mph.

Riley Hogan (2016, Edgewater HS, FL) and Duke commit Chase Creek (2016, Dr. Phillips HS, FL) drove in one run each for the Scorpions. Houston Banditos Pull Away in 5-0 Shutout

Houston Banditos pulled away with four runs in the final three innings, and claimed a 5-0 victory over Slammers Black on Saturday in Fort Myers.

One run each was driven in for the Banditos by Brylan Elmore (2015, Tomball Memorial HS, TX), Josh Campbell (2016, Angleton HS, TX), and Shawn Jamison (2015, Angleton HS, TX), who led the team with two singles. Kyle Fowler (2016, Cypress Woods HS, TX) and Christian Sanchez (2015, PSJA, TX) each scored twice, and Beau Orlando (2016, Cy-Fair HS, TX) added one run scored in the win.

Brandon Lewis (2015, Cy-Fair HS, TX) picked up the win for the Banditos, striking out eight hitters over six scoreless innings. His fastball topped out at 83 mph.

Slammers Black recorded eight singles, but were unable to score a run. Leading the hitting effort were Tommy Gillman (2016, Columbine HS, CO) and Travis Marr (2016, Regis Jesuit HS, CO), who each singled twice.

Team Elite surrendered the first run of the game, but scored the next five to claim a 5-2 victory over SWFL 16U in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Four players — Austin Wilhite (2016, Buford HS, GA), Mason McWhorter (2016, West Forsyth HS, GA), Cole Halfacre (2016, Tate HS, FL), and Branden Fryman (2016, Tate HS, FL) — each drove in one run for Team Elite. Wilhite and Brandon Marsh (2016, Buford HS, GA) recorded two singles apiece in the victory.

Will Ethridge (2016, Parkview HS, GA) tossed all six innings for Team Elite, allowing just four hits with four strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 87 mph.
