2014 Perfect Game MLB Draft preview content | Top 50 Junior College teams - May 20

With the 2014 first-year player draft roughly two weeks away, and junior-college championship tournaments set to begin on a number of fronts around the country on Saturday, we thought it was an ideal opportunity to break out the Top 100 junior-college prospects for the draft. The players that will be participating in championship tournaments this weekend at the NJCAA Division I, II and III levels are indicated below, in addition to the California Final Four. Also noted are those players projected to be drafted in the first 10 rounds, some 38 in all.

Unlike in recent years, no junior-college player is projected to be selected in the first round, and it’s possible that no JC talent will be tabbed in the first three rounds, but there should be a rush on them soon thereafter. Seminole State (Fla.) CC righthander Jacob Cosart ranks No. 1 on the accompanying list, though only ranks No. 102 on our master list of the draft’s Top 500 Prospects.

Players ranked 1-5: Group One (projected rounds 1-3)
Players ranked 6-14: Group Two (projected rounds 4-6)
Players ranked 15-38: Group Three (projected rounds 7-10)

* Participating in national / state-level junior-college tournaments
