CARTERSVILLE, Ga. --
Perfect Game Super25 will make it's debut in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean
Region on the Super25 map, January 17-20.
The tournament promises to be a good one, already having drawn interest
from close to 60 teams who are eager to participate. All nine age
divisions (9u-17u) will participate in their respective tournaments over
the course of four days. The majority of age groups will compete in
Cayey, Puerto Rico, while 13u and 17u will take the fields in Cidra.
The stakes are high for the teams competing in these regional
tournaments, with the winner of each age division earning a spot at the
Super25 National Championships as representatives of the Caribbean
Region.
The
20 regional champions and five super regional champions in each age
group will contend for national championships at five sites --
Nashville, Tenn. (9u/11u), Charleston, S.C. (10u/12u), McKinney,
Texas (13u), Fort Myers, Fla. (14u/15u/16u) and Phoenix, Ariz. (17u)
-- in July, 2014.
Perfect Game's new Super25 tournament series emphasizes baseball as a
'team' sport. Every team for each age group must submit a roster before
the start of any qualifying play and adhere to that roster throughout
each step of the tournament through the National Championship. The
players must reside in the respective region. Super25 hopes to emphasis
the importance of team commitment, integrity, chemistry, and the reward
of winning as a team.
There
will be all-tournament teams named at each step along the way. Every
championship team will receive a custom-made championship trophy and
team members in the 14u through 17u age-groups will receive a
specially designed championship ring they can treasure the rest of
their lives. The younger age-groups (9u-13u) will receive individual
medals and every roster member of each age-group championship team
will receive special caps and T-shirts.
An
All-Star Game will be played at the PG Super25 16u and 17u National
Championships, to be contested right before the national championship
games are played; the All-Star games will include only players not
involved in the championship game.
All travel ball teams that desire to participate will get their shot at
winning their region and the ultimate goal: to be crowned National
Champions.
