If there was an award in high school baseball for the most improved player around the country, Farragut High School right handed pitcher Kyle Serrano would certainly be in the running.

Not that Serrano wasn’t already very good beforehand. But he just about the perfect prototype for what scouts call the “college right hander”. Serrano was listed at 6-foot 185-pounds last summer and had a slender young body that still had some room to fill out. His delivery was very sound and he worked downhill but had some effort in his release and tended to elevate the ball at times when overthrowing and when he got tired. He worked in the upper-80s, topping out at 90 at just about every event, and threw a 75 mph curveball that had hard, tight spin as his out pitch. He’s also mix in some upper-70s changeups and had above average pitchability for his age.
