College Top 25: Major moves made

Kendall Rogers

There's little room for error when it comes to the top five teams in college baseball, and has been the case for much of the season, a majority of those teams once again took care of business over the weekend, North Carolina again holding on to the top spot in the latest Perfect Game College Top 25 rankings.

The Tar Heels hit the road and did a clean sweep of Virginia Tech in impressive fashion, while LSU and Vanderbilt took series from Arkansas and Missouri, respectively. Meanwhile, Cal State Fullerton had another good week that included a Big West series win over a gritty UC Santa Barbara club.

Oregon State moved up to No. 5 in this week's rankings after another solid week, while Virginia fell from No. 5 to No. 7 after dropping a tough road series to Georgia Tech. Also worth noting, Louisville vaulted from No. 11 to No. 8 after another solid weekend in the Big East, while Oregon and Arizona State moved up to No's 10 and 11, respectively, after the Ducks had a 4-0 week and Sun Devils had a 3-1 week.

Elsewhere in the rankings, Mississippi State is back in the top 20, moving from No. 22 to No. 17 after a clean sweep of Texas A&M, Indiana dropped from No. 13 to No. 19 after getting swept by Michigan State, and Rice dropped from No. 15 to No. 22 after narrowly escaping getting swept at home by Central Florida.

Notre Dame, Florida Gulf Coast and Houston dropped out of the latest rankings, while Cal Poly, Mercer and UNC Wilmington entered the latest set.

In terms of conference breakdown, SEC 7, ACC 6, Pac 12 4, Big West 2, Big East 1, Conference USA 1, Big 12 1, Atlantic Sun 1, Big Ten 1, Colonial Athletic 1
