Some players reach elite draft status on the strength of their outstanding performances and track record, while others are there on the strength of their raw ability. Trevor Gott is considered a top draft prospect because of a little bit of both. He has his limits due to his height and the fact that he’s a closer, but in his particular niche there might not be anyone better in the country. Gott has racked up a tremendous resume for Kentucky, and has evolved into about as automatic a closer as you will see in college baseball. And, he just seems to be getting better with each passing year.
