COLLEGE BASEBALL TICKET: Week in review (winners/losers, what we learned) -- Coming soon

Outside of an extremely important trip to the West Coast in a couple of weeks to face UCLA, Purdue faced its stiffest test the rest of the regular season over the weekend with a series against Darin Erstad's Nebraska Cornhuskers. Well, the Boilermakers passed that test in impressive fashion, taking two of three from the Huskers to improve to 12-3 in Big Ten play.

For that and much more, the Boilermakers entered the top 10 of the Perfect Game Top 50 rankings for the first time this season, vaulting from No. 15 to No. 8 following yet another successful week.

The Boilermakers weren't alone in terms of making a significant move. Baylor did a clean sweep of Texas A&M and extended its winning streak to 24 games. The Bears moved from No. 8 to No. 3, while South Carolina moved from No. 9 to No. 6 following a road series sweep over Auburn, and Rice moved from No. 14 to No. 7 after beating Texas A&M in midweek action and taking two of three from East Carolina.

A&M had a significant drop this week, falling from No. 5 No. 14 after the 0-4 week. Meanwhile, North Carolina fell from No. 6 to No. 15 after having a 2-3 week that included a home series loss to Georgia Tech. Also worth noting, Oregon dropped from No. 11 to No. 17 after losing a weekend home series to Pac-12 foe Washington State.

Teams that dropped out of this week's rankings include Auburn and Maryland, while Wake Forest and UNC Wilmington are new entrants at No's 45 and 48, respectively.

The PG Top 50 is released each Monday morning during the college baseball season.
