Florida
The
top six teams in the state remain the same with the old change being
American Hertiage jumping back over Gulliver Prep for the No. 4 spot.
Heritage and Gulliver wrap up their National High School Invitational
on Saturday.
Westminster
Christian makes its first appearance in the top ten and the week
brings two new teams into the ranks. West Broward debuts at No. 23
and Melbourne at No. 25.

Great
Plains
There
hasn’t been much action in the region yet, as many of the teams in
the top 25 haven’t played yet. No. 1 Lee’s Summit West (MO) has
gotten off to a 3-0 start as expected.
Previous
No. 4 Maize (KS) picked up a big win over No. 13 Blue Valley (KS), to
climb to No. 2. Most of the other spots remain unchanged as few
dominant teams have emerged this early in the season.
New
additions this week include: No. 17 RayPec (MO) and No. 18 Millard
North (NE).

Mid-Atlantic
Providence
(NC) maintains the top spot, with James River (VA), Roberson (NC),
Lexington (SC) and Western Branch (VA) following them.
Ardrey
Kell (NC) is up to No. 7 and the rankings have one new team, South
Point (NC). They debut at No. 22.

Midwest
A
big shakeup as to ranked teams dropped early season games across the
region. Two Illinois schools sit atop the ranks. Lyons at No. 1,
followed by Providence Catholic.
A
pair of Indiana schools, Cathedral and Fort Wayne Carroll sit three
and four with Lexington Catholic at No. 5.
No
new teams enter but there is a lot of movement within the 25.

Northeast
No
new teams enter the ranks, as New York, Pennsylvania are the only
state’s underway. George Washington (NY) has had a tough first two
days at the National High School Invitational but remain in the top
spot with Don Bosco Prep (NJ) and Gloucester Catholic (NJ) close
behind.
Expect
a lot more action and movement in the ranks as the weather warms up
and the whole region is in action.

Northwest
Previous
No. 1 and nationally ranked Westview (OR) took their first loss of
the season to then No. 9 Lake Oswego (OR), causing the Wildcats to
slip to No. 3 this week. Lake Oswego was unable to build on the
momentum of their positive start to the season, going 1-2 at the
Coach Bob National Invitational, though they did compete with teams
from states to the south and passed the eye test, thus remaining in
the top 15, coming in at No. 13.
Washington
has seen a huge shakeup, as several top teams have stumbled out of
the gate and perennial powers who were expected to be down this year
have asserted their usual dominance. 5-0 Lake Stevens (WA) makes a
big jump into the top 5, up from 18, while two previously unranked
teams vault into the top ten with No. 7 Newport (WA) ad No. 10
Edmonds-Woodway (WA).
Other
new additions this week: No. 17 Rocky Mountain (ID) and No. 23
Puyallup (WA).

Pacific
Mater
Dei has bounced back from a fairly recent skid and flexed their
offensive muscle at the National High School Invitational, beating
the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the nation by a combined score of
23-3 to jump to the top spot in the region. The Monarchs advanced to
the semifinals, while fellow SoCal power Harvard-Westlake moves into
the other semi after a couple impressive wins of their own, allowing
the Wolverines to move up to No. 2. The other California
representative in the field, Orange Lutheran made a strong statement
as well, knocking off a top ten team (Columbus, GA) 1-0 in the opener
before losing a close one in the quarterfinals, their performance
vaults them into the top 10.
Meanwhile
most of the action in California has gone as expected with most of
the top teams winning the games they should, limiting most of the
movement to the teams catapulting up the rankings with their strong
performances in North Carolina. Previous No. 1 Lakewood continued its
winning ways back on the west coast, though they slip to No. 3 for
now.
New
additions this week include: No. 21 Redlands and No. 22 Gardena
Serra.

Southeast
With
their impressive start to the National High School Invitational,
Parkview jumps fellow NHSI participant and Georgia foe Columbus to
take the top spot. Another Georgia team, Woodward Academy slides up
to No. 4.
Three
new teams enter: No. 23 Petal (MS), No. 24 Ehret (LA), and No. 25
Bryant (AR).

Southwest
It
was a rough week for the Southwest Region. National No. 1 Bishop
Gorman (NV) has lost two straight games…to nationally ranked teams
at the National High School Invitational. Previously No. 2 ranked
Spanish Fork (UT) dropped their first game of the season, to No. 6
Bingham (UT), leaving both teams with one loss a piece. Previous No.
3 Hamilton (AZ) had a slow week after winning the Big League Dugout
Invitational last week.
Bingham
jumps from No. 6 up to No. 2 after the win over Spanish Fork.
Mesquite (AZ) moves into the top 10 after a big week that included a
win over previous No. 3 Hamilton, sliding up to No. 9. Boulder Creek
(AZ) has gotten back on track at the Coach Bob National Invitational,
going 8-1 this week, and will play for the championship this
afternoon.
New
additions this week include: No. 19 Cimmaron-Memorial (NV), No. 22
Reno (NV) and No. 24 American Fork (UT).

Texahoma
In
the race to remain the last undefeated standing, No. 2 Calallen (TX)
outlasted No. 1 Corpus Christi Carroll (TX). The Tigers finally lost,
to nationally ranked Mater Dei (CA) at the National High School
Invitational on Thursday, one day after knocking off nationally
ranked Gulliver Prep (FL). The quality of the win and the caliber of
opponent that dropped the Tigers to 16-1 is high enough that they
hang onto the top spot in spite of Calallen improving to 20-0.
No.
3 Klein Collins (TX) suffered a huge loss this week in spite of going
2-0, as superstar SS CJ Hinojosa suffered a non-throwing shoulder
injury that is expected to sideline him for a while. Though the
Tigers have continued to play well without him, winning their past
four games without him in the lineup by a combined score of 44-10.
Hinojosa is batting .476/.569/.643 and will be a huge loss if he is
not back in time for the playoffs. The Tigers have won 16 straight
games and sit at 17-2 on the season.
New
additions this week include: No. 22 Bishop Kelley (OK), No. 23
Langham Creek (TX) and No. 24 Deer Park (TX).
