Great Plains
Big shakeup at the top of the Great Plains rankings this week with
previous #1 Free State (KS) going down on Tuesday to fall three spots. Francis
Howell has rebounded from a midseason skid and climbed into the top five.
Kansas wasn’t the only state that saw its top ranked team lose
this week as Ponderosa (CO) and Millard South (NE) each lost this week. Maize
moved up to number two in the region and are the highest ranked team in Kansas
at 11-0 while #10 Green Mountain is now the top ranked team in Colorado.
New additions this week include: #13 Millard West (NE), #17 North

Pacific
It was a tough for a lot of top teams out west. Bishop Amat’s
reign at #1 lasted just one week as their 21 game winning streak was snapped by
Bonita 2-1 on Thursday, allowing Edison to reclaim the top spot which it had previously
held every week.
JSerra could make a case for the top spot with the way they’ve
played the past month and a win over #7 Mater Dei in the rubber match will not
only give them a chance to climb into the top two but more importantly will
give them control of the regular season race in the very tough Trinity League.
New to the rankings this week are #20 Trabuco Hills, #22 Simi
Valley, #24 St. John Bosco.

night over the Eagles.
Two new Georgia teams enter the rankings, Alatoona at 24 and White
County at 25.

Southwest
Spanish Fork (UT) continues to play well and as a result continues
to hold a slight edge over still undefeated Sierra Vista (NV) for the number
one spot. Though both teams are worthy of the spot it’s simply a matter of
Spanish Fork doing enough not to lose it, that could change if Sierra Vista
beats fellow Las Vegas powerhouse Bishop Gorman this weekend and is still
undefeated when the rankings are updated again next week.
With the playoffs getting underway in Arizona next week’s rankings
could look quite different.

Broken Arrow’s second loss of the season caused the only movement
in a quiet week with Texas’ regular season complete. The Tigers 6-5 defeat at
the hands of Santa Fe was their first in the state of Oklahoma, they slid one
spot to number three, with Fort Bend Clements (TX) slotting in behind the top ranked
team in the nation, Owasso (OK).
Santa Fe moved up five spots to #20. Next week’s updated rankings
will feature significant movement as several small schools who have put
together impressive seasons will have the chance to prove they are for real.
