Sit Atop Latest Rankings

For the first time this season, the top two spots in the Perfect Game USA / National Junior College Athletic Association bi-weekly junior-college rankings remain the same. Utah’s Salt Lake CC (36-4) clings to the top spot, while Tennessee’s Chattanooga State CC (33-4) holds steady at No. 2.

There has been significant jockeying for position throughout the 2011 season with Howard (Texas) JC, Santa Fe (Fla.) and Miami-Dade all previously taking a turn at No. 1.

There has also been a pronounced shakeup throughout the junior-college ranks in the latest poll, particularly in some the nation’s established power states—Arizona, California, Florida, Texas. Those states have a combined 26 teams in the current top 50, and are pushing Salt Lake and Chattanooga State for the top spots by occupying every position from No. 3 through No. 10.

No. 3 Santa Fe (32-6) has re-established itself as the top team in Florida, No. 4 Feather River (24-4) as the top team in California and No. 8 Central Arizona (34-10) as the top team in Arizona. No. 5 Grayson County (32-10) remains the top dog in Texas.
