Florida

With the season a month and a half old we have a better idea of who the state’s top teams are. Preseason National #1 Gulliver holds the state's top spot after a huge victory of Lance McCullers and Tampa Jesuit last Saturday. They are followed by Archbishop McCarthy and Flangan, who have just two losses apiece. Undefeated Orangewood Christian and Tampa Jesuit round out the top five.

In addition to Orangewood, Regional #6 Flanagan, #8 Pensacola Catholic, and #11 Fleming Island all have yet to lose a game. Sarasota comes in at #7, Jupiter is #9, and Bishop Verot comes in tenth.

Pacific

Edison (Huntingon Beach) debuts at #1 in the Pacific Regioin with an 8-1 start. The Chargers’ lone loss came in a split doubleheader with a solid opponent, El Toro. Edison already has several quality wins on the young season, which has allowed the Chargers to jump ahead of St. Francis for the top spot.

St. Francis (Mountain View) comes in at #2 with an 11-1 start on the season, suffering their first loss of the year (3-1 to Valley Christian) hours after being named the #1 team in the nation. Bishop Amat lost their first two games of the season after opening up as the #5 team in the nation but have since reeled off six straight wins in dominant fashion and find themselves at #3 in the Pacific Region.

With most teams in the region having played 10-15 games and a lot of top teams beating up on each other, there are only four undefeated teams in the Pacific Top 25. 8-0 La Costa Canyon, the top ranked team in San Diego checks in at #8, 7-0 Helix (also from San Diego) is #20, 8-0 Oxnard sits at #23 and the top ranked team in Hawaii, St. Louis (8-0) rounds out the region at #25.

Southeast

The region places nine teams in our National Top 50, including Farragut (TN) which fell from the the National #1 spot after a loss to Sparkman in the Scenic City Tournament. The Admirals recovered to win the tournament and followed it up with a 10-0 victory over William Blount with LHP Xander Taylor tossing a no-hitter.

Farragut leads the Southeast Regional Rankings, followed by Baton Rouge Catholic (LA), Madison Central (MS), Marist (GA), and Columbus (GA). Seven Georgia teams make the list with undefeated East Coweta and Wayne County, coming in at #6 and #8. Defending Mississippi 3A champ Sumrall is #7 and Alabama schools Oxford and Fairhope round out the top ten.
