Houston Banditos Black 15u Win 15u WWBA National Title

The #1 seed Houston Banditos Black defeated the #2 seed Washington RIPS Brewers in a slugfest to win the 2009 15u World Wood Bat National Championship. After falling behind 8-0 early the Banditos kept chipping away at the Brewers lead until taking the lead for themselves in the bottom of the 6th inning. Those six runs scored off losing relief pitcher Skyler Genger of the Brewers proved to be enough to seal a 15-10 win for the Banditos. Courtney Hawkins' towering three run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning capped what proved to be the game winning Banditos rally. Banditos pitcher Courtney Hawkins earned the win after working 3 2/3 one run innings of relief.
