2018 Top Prospects

Mike Vasil  RHP - 2018 - Wellesley, MA
Virginia

Already committed to the University of Virginia, the strongly built Vasil continued to impress with his overall skills on the diamond. A primary pitcher, Vasil ran his fastball up to 91 mph from a short and fast arm action while showing a sharp breaking ball. He also threw 91 mph from first base as well as big time juice from the right side of the plate.

Danny Serretti  SS - 2018 - Berkeley Heights, NJ
North Carolina

Serretti is an interesting young prospect who's already committed to St. John's. A switch-hitter, Serretti showed a nice handle for the barrel from either side of the plate with solid strength from the left side. He also showed smooth defensive actions while playing shortstop with plenty of arm strength and carry to make the throw from deep in the 6-hole.

Dillon Lifrieri  OF - 2018 - Wilton, CT
Arkansas

It would be hard to look at any of the leaderboards from this event and not come across Lifrieri's name. He showed strong arms from both the infield and outfield up to 88 and 89 respectively. He also turned in a 6.82 time in the 60 yard dash. At the plate he created good leverage with clear and present bat speed through the zone and power potential.

Brian Craven  SS - 2018 - Hingham, MA
Richmond

Craven is a switch-hitting shortstop with impressive ability to turn the barrel from both sides. He showed quickness to his hands with a line drive swing plane and saw the swing translate to games. He also impressed with his fielding actions and strong arm from the left side with lateral quickness and a smooth transfer.

Leif Bigelow  RHP - 2018 - Brattleboro, VT
University of Connecticut

Bigelow is a highly athletic, projectable player in every facet of the game. He showed very big arm strength from every phase of the workouts topping out at 89 mph from both the outfield and infield. A primary pitcher though, he projects for more off the mound up to 85 with a loose, whippy arm action from an extended 3/4 slot.

Saajan May  OF - 2018 - Weston, MA
Columbia

May displayed a full array of athletic actions starting with a 6.93 time in the 60 yard dash and throwing 85 mph from the outfield. He showed a very quick swing through the zone and clubbed a home run in game. He showed the same arm strength from the mound too up to 85 mph with a balanced, smooth delivery.

Brian Hart  OF - 2018 - Saratoga Springs, NY
Marist

Hart is an interesting prospect in part because of his remaining physical projection, listed at 6-3/170 with impressive current athleticism. He ran a 6.85 time in the 60 and threw 83 mph from the outfield. He showed good power potential at the plate with leverage out front and carry off his barrel.

Andrew Kleinfeld  RHP - 2018 - Dartmouth, MA

A very strong bodied right handed pitcher, Kleinfiled showed good arm strength on the mound up to 86 mph with good angle to the lower third of the zone. Used a short, quick arm action and flashed a short breaking slider on the mound that he used with two strikes.

Will Jennings  OF - 2018 - Mountainside, NJ
Iona

Jennings is another strong armed outfielder with athleticism. He threw 86 mph from the outfield in workouts with carry and accuracy to the bag. He also impressed at the plate with loud barreled contact to all fields. He had good bat speed with rhythm and feel for timing.

Connor Bowman  C - 2018 - Wellesley, MA
Tufts University

Bowman impressed with his defensive ability behind the plate. He showed a loose, quick arm and gained ground very well with a top pop time of 1.89 in workouts and impressive velocity of 79 mph. He showed good pull side power as well at the plate with carry off his barrel.

Brian Kelly  OF - 2018 - Summit, NJ
Uncommitted

Kelly is another projectable, athletic outfielder who impressed at the plate. He came closed well with torque through his lower half and showed good quickness to his hands. His best contact came to the gaps with impact off of his barrel.

Anthony Loricco  RHP - 2018 - Holliston, MA
Army

Loricco showed impressive ability to repeat his mechanics on the mound, working quickly and attacking hitters inside. His fastball worked up to 82 mph and his changeup was the best of his secondary offerings with sink and replicated arm speed.

John Macdonald  RHP - 2018 - Quincy, MA
Babson

MacDonald showed good feel for three pitches on the mound and couple that with his 6-2/180 pound frame there is room to project for more. His fastball worked in the low 80's and hit 84 mph. He sequenced well and showed the ability to rely on his split-change for a swing and miss.

Andrew Marra  OF - 2018 - Barrington, RI
Georgetown

Marra showed a quick swing at the plate that worked to all fields with a line drive swing plane and quickness to his hands. He also showed one of the strongest arms from the outfield up to 87 mph with a shorter arm action and accuracy to the bag.

Dylan Melody  1B - 2018 - Andover, MA

Melody showed very well at the plate both in games and during batting practice. He torqued well through his lower half with intent and good bat speed through the zone. He showed clean fielding actions at first base with impressive overall athleticism.

Bailey Mikule  OF - 2018 - Boylston, MA
Uncommitted

Mikule turned in an impressive 6.88 time in the 60 yard dash and an equally impressive 10 yard split. He swung with very consistent intent at the plate, looking to drive the ball pull side and up the middle with authority, making consistent barreled contact.

Jake Modica  OF - 2018 - Framingham, MA
Uncommitted

Modica tied for the top outfield velocity at 89 mph and also turned in a solid 7.08 time in the 60 yard dash. He used an all fields approach at the plate with quickness to his hands and came through the ball well.

Griffin Watson  SS - 2018 - Falmouth, ME
Uncommitted

Watson is an up the middle talent who impressed at the plate with a short, quick swing to the ball and good opposite field power potential. He showed a strong second tool as well posting a 6.89 60 yard time with the speed showing up in game and with his first step defensive actions.


2019 Top Prospects

Sam Bello  RHP - 2019 - West Nyack, NY
Maryland

Bello was one of many impressive 2019's from the mound who worked from a high 3/4 arm slot and attacked hitters with a fastball, slider combination. He ran his fastball up to 87 mph and was around the zone effectively and mixed in a sharp slider that should continue to develop.

Billy Seidl  RHP - 2019 - Wellesley, MA
Duke

Seidl is a very promising underclassmen who showed a very quick, upbeat delivery on the mound with impressive arm speed. His fastball worked 84-86 mph and hit 87 mph with tremendous angle towards the plate and arm side life. He also showed feel for his curveball and used it successfully as a swing and miss pitch.

Ben Rounds  OF - 2019 - Milton, MA
Harvard

Rounds complied one of the more complete weekends during the showcase, opening up with an impressive 6.82 time in the 60 yard dash and showing well in games. His in-game swing impressed working short and quick to the ball with good bat speed and a line drive swing plane.

Joshua Gruenberg  LHP - 2019 - Andover, MA
Uncommitted

Gruenberg posted the second fastest 60 time of any player in the underclass event with a 6.70 time and used it well in games. At the plate he showed some of the best contact skills with a short, compact swing through the zone with good bat speed and an all fields approach.

Dominic Cancellieri  RHP - 2019 - Wayne, NJ
Notre Dame

Cancellieri showed a long arm action off the mound with a clean, repeatable delivery and a fastball that worked up to 85 mph. Competed on the mound and let the defense work behind him. Showed good bat speed at the plate with leverage and also showed a strong glove from shortstop.

James Dillon  3B - 2019 - Sudbury, MA

Dillon turned in one of the more impressive rounds of batting practice showing good bat speed from the right side and the ability to make consistent line drive contact. He also showed a strong 60 time at 7.00 and ran one of the fastest 10 yard splits.

Jackson Emus  RHP - 2019 - Clinton, MA
Princeton

Emus is a switch hitter who showed an impressive swing from the left side, getting on plane early and driving the ball through the zone with quickness in his hands. He also pitched getting up to 83 mph from a lower slot with a sweeping slider that caused tough at-bats for hitters.

Christopher Goossens  LHP - 2019 - Hampden, MA
Amherst College

Goossens showed a very full, loose arm action on the mound from a strong, projectable frame. Fastball up to 85 mph and came out very clean with good extension out front. Also showed feel for a short snapping breaking ball and a changeup.

Zeke O'Connell  3B - 2019 - Newton, MA
Salve Regina University

O'Connell is another projectable right handed arm, though listed as a primary outfielder. He showed good arm strength off the mound up to 84 mph with feel for the strike zone. At the plate he generated good extension and showed the ability to get through the ball.


2020 Top Prospects

Desmond Watkins  OF - 2020 - Bloomfield, NJ
Uncommitted

For a very young player, Watkins showed impressive athleticism and arm strength in multiple facets of the game. He threw 82 mph from the outfield and then 80 mph off the bump. He showed quickness with his barrel as well and should continue to improve.

Colby Burke  3B - 2020 - West Barnstable, MA
Uncommitted

For only being an incoming Freshman, Burke has a good bit of strength already in his frame and uses it well at the plate with a line drive swing and impressive lower half usage through the ball.
