After Monday’s slate of semifinal contests, the stage is
set for the PG Super25 12u National Championship game! The East Cobb Astros and
the Banditos will go head-to-head with the 12u title hanging in the balance.
Here’s a recap of the semifinal action from day five:
Gunner Stockton turned in one the of the most impressive individual
performances of the tournament in the East Cobb Astros’ 9-2 semifinal victory
over the Indiana Baseball Club. Stockton accrued five K’s and one earned run in
a six-inning complete game. He bolstered his resume with three RBIs on offense,
single-handedly outscoring the Indiana Baseball Club. Indiana’s Ethan Wood had
another terrific day from the dish with a fourth-inning home run, but his team
simply could not garner enough runs to keep up with the Astros.
The Banditos outdueled the Dulins Dodgers 4-3 in a six-inning nail-biter on
Field 4. Westin Walls of the Banditos had a solid day from the mound as he
accumulated ten strikeouts over the span of five innings. Walls received crucial
run support from Cameron Moore, who spearheaded the Banditos’ late two-run rally
with an RBI groundout. Following a defensive miscue, the Banditos surpassed the
Dodgers for the fourth and final lead change of the game.
The
Banditos will look to maintain their undefeated record against the hometown
Astros in the PG Super25 12u National Championship game tomorrow morning on
Field 4.
