13u Championship Game Recap

It’s all over, folks!

Dynasty 13u left no doubt that they are the rightful 13u National Champions with a 16-7 triumph over previously undefeated Roadrunner Baseball. Masyn Winn saved his best performance for the biggest stage, contributing four RBIs off of two singles and two doubles. Reid Ricard and Logan Martin combined for six more runs as the Dynasty left the Roadrunners in the dust.

David Taylor was the winning pitcher despite allowing six runs. Although he was roughed up in the first two innings, Taylor never panicked. He fanned six batters in his five innings of work.

Calin Smith and the Roadrunners drew first blood in the bottom of the first inning, but the Dynasty was quick to respond with three runs of their own. The Roadrunners would take the lead once more in the bottom of the second courtesy of Charlie Taylor’s two-run single to right field.

However, the Roadrunner’s time on top was short lived as the Dynasty fired on all cylinders, accumulating 13 of their 16 runs in the final three innings. David Taylor’s third inning double to left field brought home Masyn Winn, and claimed the lead for good.

Dynasty 13u concluded their spectacular tournament with a 5-1-1 record. They faced adversity on the way to the championship in the form of a shocking 11-3 defeat at the hands of the SWFL Starz, but the Dynasty bounced back stronger than ever. They responded with four incredible victories over the best teams the tournament had to offer on their way to being crowned the 2015 PG Super25 13u National Champions!
