2017 Top Prospects

Matthew Stary  OF - 2017 - Houston, TX

Alekzander Brown  1B - 2017 - McKinney, TX
New Mexico Junior College

You can't miss Brown at 6-4/245 and he has the predictable strength and power at the plate and showed them well in games as well as in BP. Most impressive was his athleticism, as he was the best first baseman defensively in drills and was very light on his feet in his movements.

2018 Top Prospects

Alberto Gonzalez  RHP - 2018 - Laredo, TX
New Mexico Junior College

Gonzalez really stood out as a young pitching prospect, with a loose and young 6-2/180 build and a fast and loose arm that topped out at 91 mph and was still hitting 90 in the 4th inning. His secondary stuff still needs some work but he big time arm strength and projection.

Hammond looks like a college football player with a 6-3/235 extra strong and well proportioned build. He was up to 87 mph on the mound from a high 3/4's release point and has even more velocity there with more use of his strong lower half.

Northwestern

Smith still has some growing to do at 5-9/155 but has a very impressive arm for a young and slender athlete. He topped out at 86 mph from the mound with a four-pitch mix and also threw 89 mph from the outfield.

Evan Godwin  LHP - 2019 - Cypress, TX
Baylor

Godwin is a young and projectable southpaw with three present pitches and a very good feel for pitching at a young age. He's only topping out at 80 mph now but there's plenty more there and his curveball, slider and command are already there and are weapons.
