2015 Top Prospects

Luke Farley  OF - 2015 - Denver, IA
Iowa

Farley's athleticism keeps inching forward but it is time for people nationally to start realizing that he has one of the top 2015 bats in the country. He took a "10" batting practice and followed that up with a 4-4 game that featured a home run, a double and 4 Rbi's.

Jefferey O'Doherty  RHP - 2015 - Omaha, NE
Wabash Valley College

O'Doherty was one of the revelations of the showcase, with a very strong 6-foot-4, 235-pound build, a upper 80's fastball and both a curveball and slider that were quality pitches. College Coaches Note: This young man told us he hasn't received a single college offer yet and he is a high level D1 talent in our opinion.

Cole Baker  RHP - 2015 - Grimes, IA
Iowa

Baker sat between 87-89 mph for four innings with heavy life low in the zone and didn't vary a bit in his command or velocity. His change up was also a good pitch that he could have used more often.

Tyler Garrison  C - 2015 - Shawnee, KS
Iowa Western CC

Garrison stood out on both sides of the ball as a left handed hitting catcher. He has lots of power in his bat and has all the tools, including a noticeable vein of leadership skills, to stay behind the plate for a long time.

Drew Denkinger  RHP - 2015 - Johnston, IA
St. Louis

Denkinger's fastball reached new levels this event, hitting 90 mph frequently to go with noticeable increased arm speed.

Alec Bohm  3B - 2015 - Omaha, NE
Wichita State

Bohm is blessed with impact right handed power and while there is some swing and miss in his approach, the Wichita State commit can drive the ball like few others can when he squares it up.

Christopher Comito Jr  RHP - 2015 - Norwalk, IA
Iowa

Comito's curveball is a high level pitch, with both power up to 78 mph a hard biting action that will make right handed hitter's flinch. He was up to 87 mph on his fastball and has plenty more in his arm.

Connor Hock  RHP - 2015 - Green Bay, WI
University of Central Florida/Chipola College

A native of Green Bay, Hock attacked hitters with an 86-88 mph fastball that projects to add velocity as he fills out his 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame.

Zachary Daniels  RHP - 2015 - Robins, IA
Iowa

Daniels is an interesting two-way prospect who should really continue to improve as he gets stronger. He topped out 87 mph from a deceptive low 3/4's crossfire delivery but also ran a 6.65 and shows a nice left handed swing.

Ryan Kayhill  OF - 2015 - Lee's Summit, MO
Uncommitted

Kayhill has a nice collection of centerfield tools, including 6.67 speed and a strong throwing arm, and he made a game catch on Sunday that was as good as it gets. He swings a good right handed bat as well.

Chase Slota  RHP - 2015 - Lake Villa, IL

Slota looks the part of the prospect pitcher with a broad shouldered 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame and had the stuff to match with an 85-87 mph fastball and a sharp breaking 72 mph curveball.

Justin Tallman  RHP - 2015 - New London, MO
Missouri State

Tallman is a Missouri State commit who pounded the strike zone with an 85-87 mph fastball and finished off some hitters with a sharp 11/5 curveball.

Lucas Larson  SS - 2015 - Cedar Rapids, IA
John A. Logan College

Larson has taken huge strides athletically since the spring as he's grown into his 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. He projects as a future third baseman with some pop in his bat.

Samuel Osisek  OF - 2015 - Hawthorn Woods, IL
Uncommitted

Osisek has a nice combination of middle of the field speed (6.85) and athleticism to go with a quick right handed bat.

2016 Top Prospects

Joey Polak  3B - 2016 - Quincy, IL
Missouri State/Jefferson College

Polak stands out at any event due to his very advanced right handed bat and big present power. He shows many similarities to a young Paul Goldschmidt (Diamondbacks).

Spencer Van Scoyoc  LHP - 2016 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Arizona State

Van Scoyoc has been improving in increments all summer and this was another step for him. He topped out at 88 mph, a new high for him at a PG event, but the most noticeable difference was a vastly improved change up that was a real weapon. He continues to develop as a hitter, too.

Tyler Fitzgerald  SS - 2016 - Rochester, IL
Louisville

Fitzgerald has all the tools you'd want to see in a young shortstop, from his projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound build to his 6.5 speed to his strong throwing arm.

Kace Massner  OF - 2016 - Burlington, IA
Iowa

When a 6-foot-5, 190-pound underclassman runs a 6.42 sixty, that attracts one's attention. Massner's bat has also made big progress over the summer as he's making some positive adjustments to take advantage of all his athleticism and leverage at the plate.

Kyle Crowl  MIF - 2016 - Council Bluffs, IA
Iowa

Crowl took a step forward in all his base tool areas this weekend, always a great sign in a young player. His best tool remains his bat, though, and he really swung it well in games.

Kole Kampen  LHP - 2016 - Fort Dodge, IA
Iowa

Kampen has all the ingredients to be a top left handed pitching prospect. He topped out at 86 mph and showed nice command of the pitch to both sides of the plate to go with both a curveball and a change up that showed quality.

Grant Judkins  3B - 2016 - Pella, IA
Iowa

Judkins has some adjustments to make with his hitting approach but has very good raw bat speed and can handle the barrel. His arm is becoming a very interesting tool as well, as Judkins threw 90 mph in infield drills and topped out at 87 mph with little effort on the mound.

Bryce Ball  1B - 2016 - Mason City, IA
Dallas Baptist/NIACC

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound left handed hitting Ball shows lots of barrel control in games while working the middle of the field but it was nice to see him turn on balls in batting practice and show his raw power potential. It was also nice to see him turn a double play while at shortstop late in one of the games.
