2017 Top Prospects

Cameron Norgren  3B - 2017 - Cary, NC
East Tenn State

Norgren put together one of the more impressive all around performances start with a 6.96 time in the 60 yard dash. He showed an exceptionally strong arm from both the outfield and infield up to 90 mph and 89 mph respectively. He generated good bat speed at the plate as well with a line drive swing plane.

Dominic Jampo  RHP - 2017 - Royersford, PA
Harford CC

Jampo posted the highest velocity of anyone in the event, running his fastball up to 88 mph. He used a quick, compact arm action and generated good life to the pitch. He utilized a sharp slider as a secondary pitch and also showed a changeup on the bump.

Jacob Brown  RHP - 2017 - McLeansville, NC
High Point

Committed to High Point, Brown impressed with feel for three pitches with a long arm action on the mound with a fastball up to 86 mph. His slider showed hard, downward 11/5 shape and mixed in a changeup at 80 mph with sink. He looked the part at the plate as well with a line drive swing plane and ability to impact the ball.

Adam Plouffe  OF - 2017 - Toronto, ON CAN
Mars Hill

Plouffe showed off one of the strongest arms from the outfield up to 89 mph and used it in game recording a pair of outfield assists. He impressed at the plate as well with a quick barrel and the ability to drive the ball well off the barrel to all fields.

Blake Kaplan  RHP - 2017 - Las Vegas, NV
Chicago State

Kaplan possess a tremendous pitcher's frame on the mound at 6-2/220 with big time strength and physicalty. He threw from a high 3/4 slot and got downhill well running his fastball up to 85 mph. He also showed good feel for a changeup with sinking action.

Scout Knotts  1B - 2017 - Mason Neck, VA
Shippensburg

Knotts showed some of the more impressive power potential at the plate during batting practice with an active barrel and ability to generate backspin. He showed good athleticism at first base as well, picking the ball with ease, and a strong arm across up to 87 mph.

Cameron Irvine  SS - 2017 - Penn Laird, VA
Virginia Tech

Irvine offers a high level of projection at 6-3/175 pounds and present athleticism posting a 6.86 time in the 60 yard dash and threw 82 mph across the infield. He drove the ball well to all fields with a short, compact swing and impact off the barrel.

Nathan Clark  RHP - 2017 - Matthews, NC
Brunswick CC

Clark showed a very loose, easy delivery on the mound and topped out at 83 mph from his 3/4 arm slot, but it's easy to see more coming velocity wise in the future. There was minimal effort with a simple drive towards the plate and he also showed a promising curveball.

Gray Goodrich  RHP - 2017 - Yorktown, VA
Uncommitted

Goodrich showed a quick arm from a medium arm action and used a crossfire element in his delivery to aid deception. His fastball worked in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph and showed feel to spin with his 11/5 shaped curveball.

Ryan Gusto  RHP - 2017 - Plantation, FL
Western Kentucky/Broward CC

Gusto impressed with a strong 60 time of 7.11 and then showed off a very strong arm from the outfield up to 87 mph. Switch hitter at the plate and showed well from the left side with a quick bat and ability to pull the ball with consistent line drive contact.

Colby Warren  3B - 2017 - Roanoke Rapids, NC
Barton

Warren showed a strong arm from across the infield up to 85 mph with sound third base actions. At the plate he turned in the top exit velocity of 92 mph, showing quickness to his hands with an up the middle approach. He showed similar arm strength up to 83 mph.

Dylan Yon  C - 2017 - North Charleston, SC
Erskine College

Yon impressed all around in the field with barrel feel at the plate and extension to all fields. He also showed athleticism behind the plate, gained ground well with a 2.01 pop time. He pitched as well up to 82 mph with good feel for his 11/5 curveball.


2018 Top Prospects

Davie Morgan  2B - 2018 - Louisburg, NC
Barton

Morgan hit very well in game facing older competition driving the ball well to all fields from a lower batting stance. He got on plane and matched it well working up to the ball. He posted an impressive time of 7.01 in the 60 yard dash and turned in a workout pop time of 2.00.
