PG National High School Top 50: April 26

The matchup of last week pitted then No. 4 Orange Lutheran against then No. 10 JSerra, two powerhouse California schools. JSerra swept the two-game series causing some serious shuffling in the top 10 this week. 

Marjory Stoneman Douglas (Fla.), Coppell (Texas) and Walton (Ga.) remain in the top three this week, but with playoffs underway in Florida and Georgia, and getting underway this week in Texas, that could change pretty quickly. Archbishop McCarthy (Fla.) rose one spot to No. 4, while Barbe (La.) checks into the top 5 for the first time this season. 

Buchanan (Calif.) is in at No. 6, while JSerra rises three spots to No. 7. Buford (Ga.) and Lake Travis (Texas) hold steady at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively, while Orange Lutheran slides to No. 10. 

The next several spots remain the same as they were a week ago, as all of the schools ranked Nos. 11 through 18 posted perfect weeks. Providence (NC) rises a spot to No. 19, while this week's sole newcomer, Vestavia Hills (Ala.), rounds out the top 20. 

St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.) is the biggest riser in this week's edition, jumping from No. 35 to No. 27 on the strength of a big week and an overall sterling record behind ace and potential top draft choice Riley Pint. Also rising big this week is Blessed Trinity (Ga.), who jumps five spots to No. 41 overall.

As mentioned above, the warm weather states have, for the most part, begun their respective playoffs and some are even as far as regional play. As such, this is the time of the year where the rankings are potentially the most fluid, with some teams suffering premature season ending losses and newcomers popping up as they make strong playoff pushes, so make sure so stay tuned every week for all of the risers and fallers.
