Nathan Walker  C - 2016 - Carlsbad, CA
San Diego

Walker's arm is something to watch. He threw 86 mph on a game throw down to second and was 90 mph with an easy delivery off the mound. He has good bat speed at the plate but is a few pretty easy adjustments away from being a threat with the bat.

Jason Moorman  1B - 2016 - Lakeside, CA
Uncommitted

Moorman has a short and quick right handed swing that is both high average in its approach but with plenty of power in its execution. He was a dominant hitter in the games and hit a mammoth home run on Saturday. He could evolve into a high level college hitter for some program.

Korey Lee  C - 2016 - Vista, CA
California

Lee is a very good athlete defensively behind the plate with big arm strength. He also threw 88-90 off the mound, although he has limited pitching experience. Improving with the bat will be his key moving forward.

Kevin Abel  RHP - 2017 - San Diego, CA
Oregon State

Abel was "only" 84-86 on his fastball but we're told he's been upper 80's recently. That's immaterial in many ways because he has one of the best curveballs in the 2017 class, a pretty nice change up and is ideally projectable. He's going to be a very high profile national prospect.

Sean Ross  OF - 2017 - El Cajon, CA
Indiana State/Pensacola State

Ross has huge athletic tools, ranging from his 95 mph outfield/89 mound mph arm strength to his 6.9 speed to his outstanding raw bat speed. His skills are still young but there is a very high ceiling here.

Johnny Kuhn Jr  RHP - 2017 - Lakewood, CA

Sherwood jumps out right away for his 6-4/200 pound build and then really attracts more attention when he steps into the batter's box and shows his loose and powerful right handed swing. He could be a very high ceiling hitter in a couple of years.

Kiichi Sato  MIF - 2017 - San Diego, CA
Uncommitted

Sato is a 6.68 runner who has lots of quick twitch actions on the field and some present strength. He went 3-3 in one game and showed some pop with a double and a triple.

Alex Verdugo  RHP - 2017 - Bonita, CA
Long Beach State

Verdugo has lots of growing to do at 6-1/140 but he has loose athletic actions and lots of projection both with his left handed swing and in his right arm, which touched 86 mph from the mound.

2018 Top Prospects

Brian Leonhardt  LHP - 2018 - Chula Vista, CA
San Diego State

Leonhardt has very good bat speed for a freshman and really projects lots of power moving forward. He also has a strong arm from the left side and could develop as a two-way prospect.
