51. Reggie Lawson, rhp, Victor Valley HS
R-R, 6-4/190, Victor Valley, Calif.
College Commitment:  Arizona State

Lawson will be a wildcard entering the draft as he hasn't pitched since April 5 due to an injury. Although he was performing very well before then, including a 3-0 record with a 1.20 ERA and only 16 hits allowed in 35 innings, scouts report that his stuff was down from last summer, especially with his curveball, due to changes in his pitching mechanics.

52. Ryan Boldt, of, Nebraska (JR)
L-R, 6-2/200, Red Wing, Minn.
Previously Drafted: Red Sox ’13 (22)

A projected first-round selection coming out of high school back in 2013, a knee injury cost Boldt most of his senior season and was responsible for a subsequent slip in the draft. Over the last three seasons at Nebraska Boldt has held onto his high-end prospect status as scouts project him to stay in center field at the next level, and with the type of refinements he has made to his lefthanded swing we should continue to see an uptick in power at the next level.

53. Lucas Erceg, 3b, Menlo College (JR)
L-R, 6-3/205, Campbell, Calif.
Previously Drafted: Never Drafted

Erceg has an interesting power/power profile that serves him well both on the mound and in the lefthanded batter’s box. His power potential at the plate gives him a higher upside as a potential middle-of-the-order hitter at the next level, although his overall profile may fit better in right field, where his arm certainly would fit.

here.

54. Brandon Marsh, of, Buford HS
L-R, 6-4/210, Buford, Ga.
College Commitment: Kennesaw State

Marsh was better known as a football standout as a wide receiver on the three-time Georgia Class AAAA champion Buford High School team prior to this spring but once away from the gridiron has become one of the fastest rising prospects in the draft. The lefthanded hitter has an elite level of power, strength and raw athleticism.

here.

55. Jake Fraley, of, Louisiana State (JR)
L-L, 6-1/195, Middletown, Del.
Previously Drafted: Never Drafted

The latest in a line of talented center field prospects to come from Louisiana State, Fraley has been on the prospect scene since early in his prep days and has continued to improve in each passing season. Fraley is full of athleticism and fast-twitch muscle, which make it easy to envision him sticking in center at the next level with plus speed (low 4.0s down the line), and when you factor in his short, compact swing from the left side you have an extremely interesting prospect as a top-of-the-order table setter.

here.
