Gavin jones is a 2028 SS/RHP, UT with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Monee, IL who attends Bishop Mcnamara. Uber athletic and projectable frame, long thin levers right now that scream projection. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, bounce to the feet, good technique with clean action, stronger arm across the diamond for the class, accurate, low slot across, lots of energy and intent with an idea for the position, good showing. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup from the third base side of the rubber, hands at the belt as he reaches the balance point in the lift, inline arm path, accelerates through a low three-quarters arm angle, ball does jump some out of the hand, naturally high spin rates on the curveball at 2300+, potential here with refinements. Took reps in the outfield, clean transfers to the slot with good footwork, fluid and the ball comes out of the hand nicely, moves around quite well, quick release, another solid defensive showing. Left-handed hitter, spread stance, knee lift trigger with high hands, some barrel whip present, hovering leg lift trigger, linear through the zone, parts work and is comfortable in the box. Highly projectable, hit all year on the circuit and impressed across the board. Named to the 2023 14U Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
